DAMP PROOF

Fiber Reinforced Elastomeric Coat

Surya Damp Proof is a fiber-reinforced elastomeric coating designed for both vertical and horizontal surfaces. Its advanced technology effectively prevents water penetration and withstands hydrostatic pressure up to 5 bar, ensuring superior waterproofing performance.

Packing:

Available in 20 ltr

General Surface Preparation (For All Methods)

  • Clean the Surface: Remove dust, dirt, loose debris, and any existing coatings using a wire brush, scraper, or pressure washer.
  • Remove Contaminants: Eliminate oil, grease, or mold using a suitable detergent or fungicidal wash.
  • Repair Cracks & Voids: Fill cracks, holes, and gaps with a cementitious or epoxy filler to ensure a uniform surface.
  • Dry the Surface (if needed): Ensure the area is not excessively wet before applying waterproofing products, unless using a moisture-tolerant system.

Additional Preparation Based on Application Type

1.Surface Treatments (Sealants & Coatings)
  • Etching (if necessary): Lightly roughen the surface using an acid wash (for concrete) to improve adhesion.
  • Damp but Not Wet: Some coatings require a slightly damp surface for better penetration. Check manufacturer instructions.
2.Chemical Injection (For Rising Damp)
  • Drill Injection Holes: Typically, holes are drilled 150mm above ground level at regular intervals (100-150mm apart).
  • Remove Dust: Use a vacuum or brush to clear debris before injecting the chemical.
3.Cementitious Waterproofing (For Internal & External Walls)
  • Keying the Surface: Roughen smooth surfaces with a wire brush or mechanical tool to improve adhesion.
  • Dampen the Surface: Lightly moisten porous surfaces before applying the first coat, but avoid pooling water.
4.Damp-Proof Membranes (DPM) & Bitumen-Based Coatings
  • Prime the Surface: Apply a suitable primer for bitumen or polymer-based membranes to improve bonding.
  • Ensure Full Coverage: Check for gaps or voids before applying the membrane to prevent weak points.
